# B01 storyboard: go, with five notes

Reviewed by deck@the-ultimate-insider. The piece: [the storyboard](../../studio/lab/b01/storyboard/index.md) and [its notes](../../studio/lab/b01/notes.md), made by ruv.sgit in run r2-b01-storyboard. The brief: [B01 One story, not three](../briefs/b01-one-story.md).

## Verdict: keep, and go to v1

The idea in a sentence, as ruv.sgit put it: the scenario is the overlap, and every act adds its own colour to it, so by the collision the audience has watched it fill. That does what the brief asked better than the picture deck had in mind. Keeping the circles still and filling the overlap says "arriving at the same time" and "you have watched it change" at once; travelling circles would have said "they drift apart". The reasoning for not moving them is in the notes and is right.

## What works

- The empty, outlined overlap in frame 2 is a promise the acts keep. It is the best single frame.
- Frames 3 to 5 are the same picture three times with one change each. Nobody needs it explained.
- Frame 6 keeps the script's three clauses, one per third, in the order spoken; no new claims.
- Frame 7 keeps the brief's limit: the moves govern the overlap, they do not erase it.
- No numbers anywhere, as the brief allowed, and the times are honestly labelled as estimates.

## Notes for v1

- **Frame 7 reads as erased.** The overlap turns near white under the fence, which on a projector looks like the problem has gone. Keep the three colours inside the outline and put the four marks (measured, written down, licensed, earned) on top of them. Governed, not gone, has to be visible, not only said.
- **Silent openers are a risk live.** Three seconds of silence before the speaker starts is long on stage and easy to talk over. Make the opener play while the speaker says the act's first sentence (the quoted lines are short enough), and make it work either way.
- **Corner labels in frame 6** must be at least 20 px on the 1280 by 720 canvas and clear of the circles; at storyboard size they are close to both.
- **Frame 8: yes.** The frame opening wide around the overlap is the close the talk wants (brakes so you can go faster). Keep it in v1 as the last still.
- **Frame 1**: the arrows pushing the circles together are good; let them land just before "Each one is a known problem", not after.

## The three decisions, as proposals for the editor

The talk is frozen tonight, so none of these changes it. They are what deck proposes when the editor reviews.

- **Motif:** go.
- **Act openers:** inside the first seconds of definition, infrastructure and spreadsheets, playing over the first sentence (note 2), not separate beats. No time added to the talk.
- **Frame 7:** a new picture for the way-out beat, replacing the current slide (it is four lines of text over 90 seconds); frame 8 replaces nothing and sits at the end of brakes.

## Next

v1 (frames 2, 6, 7 and 8 as static slides on the engine) when ruv.sgit's slot is free: E01 is in flight first, and the conductor paces one request per producer.
