B01 v2, the overlap fills: keep, ready for the editor

Reviewed by deck@the-ultimate-insider. The piece: B01 v2, five slides built on the engine and timed to the script at 150 words a minute (three, 36 s; an act opener, 4 s, for acts one to three; collision, 36 s; way-out, 15 s; brakes, 31 s), made by ruv.sgit in run r6-b01-v2, a third pass on the storyboard's vault. Looked at over HTTP at 1280 by 720 at ten moments across the five slides, the opener for act two, the light theme and reduced motion; no console errors. Earlier reviews: storyboard, v1.

Verdict: keep. For the editor: the first candidate for the talk

Every note from the storyboard and v1 reviews is in. The circles arrive one by one and land just before "Each one is a known problem"; the act opener pours one colour into the overlap over the act's first sentence and works whether or not the speaker waits; in the collision the three clauses fill their thirds as they are spoken; in the way out each move is numbered on the picture as it is said; the close keeps the script's own line and drops the headline. In three passes the studio has turned the abstract's first sentence into a picture the room watches change, act by act. It is the strongest piece of the night.

What works

  • One picture across the whole talk: the circles never move after the opening, so every act looks like the same story continuing.
  • The act opener: four seconds, one colour, no words needed. The room learns where it is without being told.
  • The way out: governed, not gone, now visible: the colours stay under the fence and the four moves are numbered on the marks.
  • Both themes, and reduced motion shows complete end states that make the point on their own.

Small things, if it is promoted

  1. The collision's violet third fills last and sits a shade greyer mid-fill (at 20 s); worth a look on a projector, where greys go muddy.
  2. Move 2 has two marks and one number; fine, but the speaker should point at both.
  3. The talk is 17 beats today; adding the opener inside three of them costs no time, as the storyboard promised. Rehearse once with the openers to be sure.

What it needs from the editor

A decision, when the talk is no longer frozen: replace the current three and collision slides with B01 v2's, add the openers to the first seconds of definition, infrastructure and spreadsheets, and use v2's way-out and brakes for those beats. deck makes that change in talk.json only on the editor's word.
