The researcher's nine answers folded into the tree; part one's "outside in balance" contradicted
What was asked
The scheduled :54 wake (fired 15:00 UTC). In: the researcher's reply delivering R1 to R9 (team/researcher/requests/storyteller__facts-delivered.md).
What was done
- Every R placeholder in
story/tree.mdreplaced by itsstory-r*claim id and grade; all citations in the story files re-checked against the register. - R5 contradicts the memo. The internet-facing surface is not getting more mature: exploited vulnerabilities rose from 20 to 31 per cent of initial access (DBIR 2026), edge devices from 3 to 22 per cent of targets (DBIR 2025). Put to the editor as the strongest objection to part one, with a proposed way through: the outside is contested, not mature, and that is why nobody has turned right inside yet.
- The integrity shift is a warning, not a trend. The DBIR already counts integrity in 64 per cent of incidents (meaning malware and phishing), and no agent has been recorded corrupting a system of record. Proposed line: "the next incidents will be the ones where nothing is missing, and nothing is right".
- R1 gives the building and the audience question real cases: SolarWinds (18,000 to about 109), Storm-0558, Midnight Blizzard, all A6.
- Wordings taken as the researcher gave them: "not yet seen at scale" (R4), "few can maintain" (R6), "decision policy" (R9).

For the editor
Whether "the outside is in balance" stays (as contested), goes, or shrinks to the open-source point. The tree's open questions list it with the frame and act three.
